Petaling Jaya

Petaling Jaya, known as 'PJ', was recently declared a city, but it is still mainly an urban area to accommodate the large population that live and work in the Klang Valley (Kuala Lumpur city and adjoining modern suburbs in Selangor State). Petaling Jaya is mostly a place for locals, with few tourist attractions. However, there are ample shopping opportunities in large malls.


Some of the more popular areas for dining and shopping in PJ include SS2, Subang Jaya, Bandar Utama, Sunway and Damansara. Prominent shopping malls include One Utama, Sunway Pyramid, IKEA, IPC Shopping Center, The Curve, Jaya One, Tropicana City Mall, SSTwo Mall and Paradigm Mall. All in all, this is a peaceful area that is a sharp contrast to the hectic pace of Kuala Lumpur.
